Replacing the Extractor

Yesterday someone on rimfirecentral.com had a problem with a lost extractor, and asked about how to install the replacement. Here’s the video I made to answer his question. The process is easy enough – provided you take care not to let the extractor fly out and get lost. The spring behind it is pretty powerful.

The video also shows the easiest way to remove the bolt from the receiver.

I made a point of posting the video unedited in order to show that things don’t go perfectly all the time for any of us, and how to correct the installation if it doesn’t snap right into place the first time.
